Since 1978, AVI has been a leader in creating entertaining and educational laser light shows for planetariums, corporate events, sports events and amusement parks worldwide. AVI has pioneered some of the most innovative, artistic and technical techniques for the domed theater industry. AVI was the first laser company to use sequential animation in planetarium laser shows. AVI introduced the world to 3-D laser shows for planetariums. AVI also developed and patented SkyLase, full-dome (360 x 180 degree) full color laser projection technology star projector. Expanding on their patented technology, AVI developed LaserGlobe for presenting laser shows filling an entire spherical surface and Discoscan for exciting 360 degree mid-air laser beam effects. Full-Dome Video Production
AVI produced the first full dome 2D animated production, Legends of the Night Sky: Orion. AVI’s most recent achievement is the makeover of the popular planetarium show, The Little Star That Could, ushering it into the digital full dome era. Currently in production and available in 2010 will be Legends of the Night Sky: Perseus & Andromeda.
AVI will work with you from the very beginning of new design and construction or renovation of your planetarium. We will provide detailed schematic drawings and specifications and will participate in all aspects of the construction phase, construction meetings and site inspections. AVI will also provide dome manufacturing and installation, digital sound systems, cove lighting systems, production suites, seats and 3D cinema.
